Apex North Carolina is known as the “Peak of Good Living” for a reason. It truly is small-town USA providing a peaceful lifestyle situated on the highest point of the Chatham Railroad. Thus, a railroad station that began in 1854 gave birth to the town as we know it when the first settlements in the area came to the town in the 1860s.
Once known for its tobacco farming, Apex has since evolved as one of the most sought after suburbs in the Triangle area. Just 15-20 minutes from RTP, Research Triangle Park, RDU Airport and Downtown Raleigh, Apex has become a hub of “good living.” Demographically diverse, this small-town USA is driven by those that make up its community. The town government is composed of many that have spent their lives in Apex. The growth has been continual as the demand to live in such a wonderful location has been greater with each and every year. Greenspace and parks are plentiful in a farm town that hinged on the railroad. From Apex Community Park to Hunter Street Park, there are ample greenways, soccer and baseball fields along with the Trackside Skate Park located just a few blocks from Historic Downtown Apex.
Money Magazine last ranked Apex, NC as #1 Best Place to Live in 2015 which was a continual rise from its original claim to fame ranked #14 in 2007 and then #9 in 2013! Whether it’s the numerous community events such as PeakFest or the Apex Christmas Parade, there is always something that makes those who live here feel a strong sense of community.
